OUR PODCAST PLAYLISTS
We have several playlists on
of subjects we've discussed on our podcast. These playlists include:
FORGIVENESS↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and Lacey discuss forgiveness, what it is, what it isn't, and what the Bible says about it. They also talk about repentance, restitution, reconciliation, restoration, and propitiation.
GNOSTICISM↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and Pastor Scott Frerking discuss 1 John 4.1-6 and the gnostic origins behind the pessimistic nature of humanity. They also shares how this belief hinders our ability to trust Jesus and be led by him into freedom and victory over sin. They also discuss how Gnosticism affected the content of the New Testament along with its influence on the modern church. They share ways Christians may be "gnostic" and not even realize it.
MESSY CHRISTIANITY↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and Lacey discuss forgiveness, what it is, what it isn't, and what the Bible says about it. They also talk about repentance, restitution, reconciliation, restoration, and propitiation.
ROMANS 5-8↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and Pastor Scott Frerking discuss the messiness of Christianity — from their personal faith journeys of doubt and depression to misunderstandings of perfection and holiness.
GALATIANS↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and Pastor Scott Frerking discuss Paul's letter to the Galatians and how he addresses Gentile-Christian communities in southern Galatia facing Judaizing influences that arose after his first missionary journey. Paul likely wrote to the Galatians in 48-49 AD from Antioch, Syria after the circumcision issues were stirred up in Galatia but before a decision was made at the Jerusalem Counsel.
1-3 JOHN↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and Pastor Scott Frerking discuss John's letters where he addresses false teachers who were trying to mislead first-century Christians by rejecting, among other things, Jesus' humanity. They discuss the Gnostic belief system, flesh is considered depraved and sinful while the Spirit is good and enlightened. John plainly says that anyone who believes this is against the Anointed One (or, an anti-christ).
JUDE↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and Pastor Scott Frerking discuss how what we say we believe isn’t as important as the fruit our life produces — our behavior reveals our true doctrines and theology. Jude was written to refute a developing form of Gnosticizing Judaism that advocates for a liberal lifestyle. This early Christian Gnosticism, while not formally structured or methodized yet, was separatist in their gathering and community.
REVELATION↗︎ is a playlist where Nathan and his friend, Phil, discuss how for over a century, Revelation has been one of the most perplexing and misunderstood books in Scripture. They reveal how John draws from the imagery, themes, and patterns from nearly every book or prophecy in the Hebrew Scriptures. They also give some cultural contexts and simple rules of interpretation that will help bring to life the historical reality of Jesus' victory and the dismantling of the Mosaic Covenant that are found in this book.
